God made man simple. Man's complex problems are of his own devising. You might think that was written by a contemporary author or at least someone in the 20th century. In fact, it's found in Ecclesiastes 7:30, written by Solomon in the 10th century BC. When we think about our contemporary culture and our personal lifestyles, our lives are full of distraction. We've got pagers, cell phones, e-mail, iPods, our education and career, mortgage payments, and, of course, no-money-down low-interest loans! We have been driven frantic by a society that says true happiness is found in things that we have to acquire, and stresses that our only focus should be to amass more things--more money, more wealth, more status, and ultimately more security. Why have we bought into a mind-set that ultimately keeps us from true happiness? What can we do to change that? How should our Christian perspective shape how we perceive our society, especially as young adults? Ultimately, we have to ask, "How can we get back to the way God created us?
